If you weren't quite on board with Wayfinder's combat, they could be fixing that for you.

Wayfinder by the numbers

During the Wayfinder closed beta there were plenty of bugs discovered and lots of player feedback given. Exactly how a closed beta should be. It sounds like the Wayfinder team is taking player feedback seriously as they've announced a number of changes and improvements that will be in place when the game goes into Early access.

For starters, they are disabling forward movement when a melee target is within hit range, making it so you don't continue moving forward and slide past your target as often happened in the Wayfinder closed beta. Targeting is also being improved, allowing players to stick to their desired targets better.

Add to that defensive maneuvers having more interrupt windows during combat so that players can parry, dodge, and block, and Wayfinder has already addressed most, if not all, of my issues with combat during the closed beta. We'll just have to wait and see how they are implemented and how much of an improvement they make in Early Access.

Also on the table for improvements is the ability to choose the order in which your abilities are unlocked, more enemies and enemy variation, and quality of life improvements to the entire in-game chat system.

Now for the fun numbers.

183,691 Hunts were completed with Bosses slain.

13,600,000 Enemies were killed with 852,000 Baby Spiders being squashed.

415,000 Expedition into Lost Zones were completed.

It sounds like developer Airship Syndicate has Wayfinder on the right path toward becoming the game we all hope it can be. After reading about these changes, I'm excited to try the game out again in Early Access.
