Considering its Eastern European roots, it’s a little surprising that Wargaming has never placed its championship event inside Russia. That will change in 2017, as the Wargaming Grand Finals pit the best World of Tanks teams against one another in Moscow, and a lot of rubles will be on the line.
Grand Finals 2017 will take place over four days. The Group Stage will occur May 23-24 in a studio. The top teams from those two days will then face off on May 27-28 in the VTB Ice Palace, to stake their claim at a portion of the $300,000 prize pool. The event is open to the public, so if you happen to be in Moscow in late May — I hear it’s beautiful that time of year — be sure to stop by.
If you can’t make it in person, Wargaming will broadcast all of the events via Twitch. You can find the primary stream here and more info in general on the EU World of Tanks site.
Slow-paced pay2win game as an e-sport. I’m sure that’ll be real popular with the masses.
