XDefiant Factions Being Nerfed In Tomorrow's Season 1 Update, New Maps, Weapons, And A New Faction Coming
Match bonus XP rewards were nerfed as well.
We’re just a day out from the launch of XDefiant’s first season. Today, Ubisoft dropped patch notes ahead of the update and they’re filled with several changes – among them nerfs to some of the shooter’s factions. Changes include adjusting the Phantoms’ Mag Barrier cooldown from 30 to 40 seconds and reducing its hit points. In addition, the Phantoms’ AEGIS can now be damaged with EMP grenades and DedSec’s Spiderbot cooldown has been increased.
All of this comes as the new GSK faction joins the game. The update also drops 3 new maps, a new arena mode (Capture the Flag), and, of course, new weapons and weapon mastery levels.
Speaking of nerfs, Tuned Match Bonus XP rewards are being halved. Now MVP and Victory rewards are 1,000 XP instead of 2,000 and Draw rewards are 500 rather than 1,000. On the upside, completion rewards have been doubled from 2,000 to 4,000. It appears the idea is to keep players sticking with Tuned match long enough to complete it.
The patch will also introduce a new map and game mode. Full patch notes are available on Ubisoft’s site.
