Best Ways To Make GP On A Free RuneScape Account
How free RuneScape players can earn GP as fast as paid players.

Making GP in RuneScape has been a challenge for free-to-play players, even going all the way back to the MMORPG introducing a membership service in 2002. Once paying members had access to new GP-making opportunities through new, unique quests and areas, F2P players needed to find ways to keep up. However, there are still plenty of ways you can make GP without spending money. Here’s everything you need to know about the best ways to make GP on a free RuneScape account.
Mining and Smithing
Mining and smithing have always been staple moneymakers for F2P players. For lower levels, copper and tin will be your bread and butter. As you increase your level, you’ll be able to mine iron, which always has a great trade value on the Grand Exchange. As you progress, you’ll get access to better areas and better resources for mining. At level 30, you’ll be able to access the Motherlode Mine, which is perfect for some AFK mining.
Fishing and Cooking
Fishing is a great money-making method for F2P players. While you can start fishing early on in the game to make GP and earn experience, the real profit comes at higher levels. Once you get your fishing up to level 91, you can start fishing for blue blubber jellyfish, which have some of the highest values in the Grand Exchange. For increased profits, cook your fish before selling them.
Woodcutting
Similar to mining, woodcutting is a reliable way to make GP on a free account. This method may start off a bit slow, but at level 60, you’ll be able to start chopping yews. That’s when you can really start making some money, as yews have a high market value on the Grand Exchange. While you can start chopping yew at level 60, it’s recommended you get to level 75 to decrease the time-to-chop, making for a more lucrative venture.
Combat
If you know what to fight and how to optimize drops, combat can be one of the better GP-earning methods for F2P players. For lower-level free accounts, the hill giants in the Edgeville Dungeon are great for making GP. Even their common drops can earn you a pretty penny, while higher-level players can expect rarer items like uncut gems and adamant bars. As you progress, you can take on moss giants and flesh crawlers, which both drop coins and plenty of sellable items.
Rune Crafting
It wouldn’t be RuneScape without runes! Once you acquire the proper essences and talismans, head over to the corresponding rune altar to craft your runes. Then you can check the Grand Exchange to see what each rune is selling for and set your prices accordingly. Alternatively, you can sell runes to specific NPC shopkeepers, though you can expect lower profit margins if you go this route.
Flipping on the Grand Exchange
Business-savvy players can use the Grand Exchange to flip items for a profit. All you have to do is buy items when they’re selling at a low point and wait for demand to rise again. Then you can sell for a decent profit margin. If you’re unsure about this method, you can do a test flip. Just buy a small quantity of an item and see how easily you can flip it for a profit. You can also use online price trackers to monitor the selling and buying points of items on the Grand Exchange.
While F2P players might feel they have a herculean task ahead of them to compete with members, there are plenty of ways to make GP on a free account.
