8bitMMO Finally Launches

It's funny how time flies. It's been a few years since I even thought about 8bitMMO, Archive Entertainment's indie title. I remember Brim giving the game an A-Bomb on a Free to Play Cast years ago as he wasn't a fan of the nostalgic graphics nor the game's entirely player built world.

Little did I know that the title was actually 14 years in the making! It all started when solo indie developer Robby Zinchak began working in his spare time on a sandbox game where all players could help build the world together.

Fast forward to today and 8bitMMO has officially made it to a version 1.0 launch. The latest updates also include the new "Transponders" mode. This competitive PvE/PvP mode allows players to build a base and then summon a raid consisting of monsters and other players. Enemies spawn in increasingly difficult waves, and the winning side is awarded gold for their victory.

If you're looking to kill a little time and enjoy creation type games, check out the official site to get started.

Hopefully it'll close down quickly, I have to 100% agree with Brims remark. I am fine with simple graphics and game play and am all for satire but whoever wrote the 'comedy' bits of this game should stop writing and it is possibly the laziest development of a game i have ever witnessed and the guy is who made it is greedy as hell to boot wanting insane amounts for garbage cash items,t-shirts and stuff. I've enjoyed plenty of indie games and understand the hardship of a small or single person team but this is complete garbage even by that standard. Keep well clear unless you want an experience that will leave you dry heaving and cursing the current indie fetish that allows this to even exist.

I never tried the game before, and not sure if I want to. But one thing I can say, don't play a game because of it's graphics. If you play a game for it's graphics, it's the same as watching p*rn for it's plot....
