A New Age: ArcheAge Alpha Begins
After nearly a decade of development and closed beta testing abroad, Trion Worlds, Inc. has finally set in motion events which will bring the long awaited ArcheAge to fans across North America. Earlier today the studio annoucned the sandbox MMORPG had officially began its alpha testing, while simultaneously lifting the former NDA. Trion Worlds has encouraged everyone to share screenshots, footage and any content, as they will be looking for any media that breaks the mold, and highlighting it on their official website.
A new trailer showcasing a hunk of ArcheAge's lore also surfaced along with the announcement. The trailer, although a magnificent piece of eye candy, is cinematic alone; no in-game footage or any explanations of gameplay are within the preview.
While eager gamers have been skeptically waiting for what must seem like eons for this project to finally take a leap, getting alpha kick started and lifting the NDA seems like a solid enough promise to say that a full ArcheAge release is definitely on its way relatively soon. As it stands, Trion now only has the Closed Beta and Open Beta left ahead of this year's launch.
Players can still score keys for the Alpha over the coming weeks by competing in Trion's upcoming contests, giveaways and of course by signing up on the game's official site here.
