ArcheAge: Unchained Is Doing Away With Free Trials To Keep Fresh Starts Clean
The move is intended to keep the new Fresh Start server from being exploited.
With a new Fresh Start server coming, ArcheAge: Unchained servers have been concerned that the free trial option might be able to be uses to exploit things. The developers have taken these concerns into consideration and have decided the best course of action is to remove the free trial altogether.
The devs aren’t waiting around either – which makes sense since the new server launches tomorrow. As of today, players will not be able to create an account using the free trial option. Based on the post, there’s no indication that players with existing free trial accounts will lose theirs. But it’s a solid step to keep things level on the fresh start server. The developers do note that they’ll be monitoring for any other potential abuse of game mechanics once the new server has launched, but at least that one is taken care of so far.
