In January, we reported that ArenaNet's unannounced project had a lead designer, Jennifer Scheurle, who identified herself as such in her Twitter bio. Unfortunately, Scheurle revealed today that she is no longer with the company, an announcement that places the future of that project in considerable doubt.

As Scheurle said that her dismissal was "part of a re-shuffling of projects," that leads one to think that she might not have been the only employee let go. As of right now, we haven't heard of anyone else leaving the company, but we'll update this piece if we learn more.

Just as unsettling is the manner in which Scheurle was let go. She said that she was "locked out of my work computer within 10 minutes and I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to my colleagues." That's not a great way for anyone to be dismissed, and we hope Scheurle, as well as anyone else who might be affected, can land back on their feet soon.

No sympathy here.

I'd normally have some sympathy, but this is someone who's made vile false claims about other people. She's used smear tactics to try to get people fired just because she disagrees with them.

That kind of sudden dismissal, where she's kicked out of a long term workplace without even time to say goodbye to her colleagues, isn't normal even in the games industry. I suspect that she finally went too far and was fired because her actions were creating a toxic working environment.

They were probably waiting for the right time to quietly give her the boot without giving her a chance to cause a huge controversy by firing her on the spot.

No, she was fired for being an ANTIFA extremist. Company had to save themselves and brand this as a "reshuffle" rather than a "firing."

That's out of it.
Technology's ease of BUTTON PRESSERS :) creates employee ejections a breeze. This is a weak act of the NeWwAY of sacking. this needs addressing as its so wrong. We are all human and should be treated with some respect. This lady it seems didn't even get a chance to pick her nose. lol
