Overwatch 2 Season 3

With Overwatch 2 Season 2 done and Season 3 on the way, the game team dropped a post today taking a look at the past season and what’s to come in the next. If you want to read the “we did stuff you’ve already seen” portion of the post, you can find it on the Overwatch site. As for what’s to come, well, Ramattra is getting a power increase (in Nemesis form), and the timer on his Annihilation ability has been adjusted. It will now tick down slower if enemies are in it rather than pausing. The game will also be getting updates to the ranked modes to address matchmaking issues.

In addition to the above, Season 3 will also introduce Overwatch credits – referred to as “Legacy Credits" since the release of Overwatch 2. They also couldn’t be earned in Overwatch 2 and were just a carryover from the first game. That, however, is changing with Season 3. Now, players can earn up to 1,500 credits as free rewards from the Season 3 Battle pass. Those that pay for the premium version will get an additional 500 on top of that. These credits can be used to buy epic and legendary-tier skins (at the 1,500 price) and the devs are adding other ways for players to spend them.

Some of the new purchase options mentioned are skins from seasonal events, so if you missed out on earning them during the event, you’ll just be able to pick them up with your credits.

Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
