CD Projekt Red Announces $100,000 Gwent Challenger Tournament
Gwent may still be in closed beta, but that it can't be pushed as an e-sport. Today, CD Projekt Red, in conjunction with ESL, announced the $100,000 Gwent Challenger Tournament, which will culminate in a series of matches between four players and four professional gamers.
There are some catches, of course. You'll need to be in the Gwent closed beta to participate, and then you'll have to be among the top 256 ranked players from each division of the Gwent leaderboard. If you survive to the top stage of the tournament, ESL will fly you to Poland to take on the e-sports pros face-to-face. $60,000 goes to the winner of the tournament, with $20,000 to second place and $10,000 each to third and fourth place.
Signups for the tournament start today and run until March 22. The semifinals take place on April 8-9, with the date of the finals still up in the air. You can get full details, along with a timeline and FAQ on the tournament's page.
