Guild Wars 2 Troubadour

Elite specializations return to Guild Wars 2 with the upcoming expansion Visions of Eternity.

ArenaNet revealed the first three: the Troubadour (Mesmer), Galeshot (Ranger), and Luminary (Guardian), each offering a new approach to their base professions. Players of the free-to-play MMORPG will get an early look at these specializations during a livestream on July 25, and a hands-on beta will run from August 20 to 27.

The Troubadour is a sylvari-themed Mesmer elite spec that swaps illusions for music and stories. These magical storytellers weave power into performance, using instruments instead of shatter skills. Each instrument produces an initial effect — damaging enemies or healing allies — and continues playing in the background to provide ongoing buffs. With the keynote skill Crescendo and traits like Call and Response, Troubadours blend battlefield support and thematic flair.

The Galeshot transforms Rangers into tengu-inspired wind archers, wielding the Cyclone Bow to manipulate the air and unleash powerful long-range attacks. Arrows are a resource, building up to devastating finishers like Hawkeye, while wind-based utility skills enhance movement and crowd control. Galeshots also bond closely with avian pets, granting bonuses and quickness through traits such as Flock Together.

The Luminary is a Guardian elite spec developed jointly by the Flame and Iron Legions. These warriors bear a magical brazier that powers their Radiant Shroud, a unique form that replaces standard weapon skills with radiant weapon abilities. Luminaries can equip up to four different radiant weapons while in shroud, each offering its own traits — like damage boosts from hammers or healing from staffs. Players can customize their playstyle, balancing support and offense depending on the situation, though swapping weapons increases the cooldown of Radiant Shroud.
