Warframe The New War

The New Year is almost among us, and so is the New War, the next expansion for Warframe. A new cinematic trailer highlighted the reveal of the expansion in the last devstream, and it expands the story-based cinematic quest line that lends some added weight to the goings-on in the game, for both new and old players alike.

For the first time, players will control new characters through a three-act story while "unearthing answers to long-standing questions about Warframe’s sprawling sci-fi universe." They'll see the world through the eyes of their enemies -- Kahl-175 the Grineer, Veso the Corpus Tech, and the Dax: Teshin -- as they complete missions in new environments and "fight across the Origin System to push back the invading Sentient force." Creative Director Steve Sinclair called The New War "the experience players have wanted since the quest title was first revealed at TennoCon 2018."

The New War offers more conventional progression as well, such as Caliban, a Sentient-Warframe hybrid, and new customizations, weapons, and accessories. New and returning players can take advantage of the Tenno Guide, a UI improvement meant to easy a player's first steps into the game, as well as additional quality-of-life improvements to guide them along the game's cinematic quest line.

The New War will launch December 15 for Warframe players on all platforms. Until that time, you can take part in the Prime Resurgence event to earn some of the game's most powerful Warframes. More details on that can be found on the Warframe site.
