XIV Kugane Tower Record

All Final Fantasy XIV players are familiar with the MMORPG's infamous Kugane Tower – a rather tedious jumping puzzle that some absolutely love and others fear. In fact, some hate the idea of trying to climb it so much that they’ll make deals with someone else to do the climbing for them. This works because the ones not doing the climbing can switch to Blue Mage and blow themselves up, allowing the jumper to rez them to where they’re at on the tower.

For those that love it, it’s a more competitive endeavor, and once they’ve mastered it for the first time, the only option is to try to do it faster.

Streamer Pint – you might know him as the evil Lalafell that enslaved his guild in order to buy a house (pre-lottery system) – decided to take on the challenge of a world-record Kugane Tower speed run. After months of training following his first 16-minute run, Pint beat the tower in 43.30 seconds. This run beat the previous record by 0.28 seconds, according to Game Rant.

Unfortunately, Pint didn’t hold onto the record for long, as the previous record holder, Emo_oticon, came back the next day and reclaimed it, dropping his time from the previous 43.58 to 38.74. Based on a comment Pint made on his own video, it seems he won’t be attempting to reclaim the short-lived title. It might be for the best. Apparently, he learned a lot of the tricks needed to beat Emo_oticon’s previous record by watching the recording of that run. That might make beating the new record a bit more difficult. Besides, he likely has other evil shenanigans to get up to.
