Final Fantasy XIV Players To Receive Free Play Time As Compensation For Issues
They’re also looking into the problems with housing lighting.
While things have gone smoother with Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail launch than they did in Endwalker, that doesn’t mean the launch of the MMORPG's expansion has been completely problem-free – particularly for players on Xbox. Players on Microsoft’s console have had freezing issues when moving between zones. This hasn’t been completely addressed yet, although it is a priority for the dev team. In the meantime, they will be given 8 days of free game time as compensation. Everyone else will receive two days of free game time – which will be added to the 8 days given to Xbox players, for a total of 10 days.
To be eligible for this free play time, players need to have registered their copy of Dawntrail and have an active subscription as of July 4. The free days will be applied to players’ accounts beginning July 10.
Speaking of issues, if your housing lighting is acting up, the devs are looking into that. It seems that the lighting changes implemented with Dawntrail have resulted in lighting set at 0 being too bright and lighting set at 5 being too dark. As noted, this is being worked on and players should expect a fix by Patch 7.05.
As a final reminder, today is the last day to register your Dawntrail expansion if you want to keep playing without interruption. This will be the second code sent to you prior to the expansion’s official launch.
