One word that isn't anywhere to be found in the announcement is "gamigo."

Things with Fractured Online just keep getting weirder and weirder. After the apparent deletion of the game from gamigo's website and a stunning lack of any comment on why when we reached out, the MMORPG announced today that it is returning to "closed development."

Why? Apparently they are having "troubles with their third-party backend platform." The team vaguely says that this platform is responsible for managing the game servers and stability. What the problems actually are and why the team needs to basically obtain/build a new platform isn't mentioned at all in the announcement.

Also void of any mention in the announcement (and the game's Discord according to MassivelyOP) is "gamigo", good or bad.

For Fractured Online players, this shift to closed development means less access to the game as 2023 kicks off. A small portion of the team is working on the new platform, but most of the team is said to still be working on development, updates, and changes. Fractured Online is pointing out that the first update next year will be the largest ever.

"Our current focus is on player retention and quality of life / bug fixes. Regarding the former, we are finalizing features such as the Journey System, a quest/achievement hybrid to guide players past the tutorial, and ability level-up. As for the latter, we have over 200 tasks touching topics such as controls, combat, latency, client and server performance, balancing, points of interest, city sieges, and more," says the Fractured Team.

Expect a full new roadmap in 2023 and, we would hope, an announced resolution on exactly what is going on with gamigo.
