PoE 2 EA Adjustments

With Path of Exile 2 in Early Access, players have seemingly been taking the whole thing about giving feedback seriously. The good news is that the developers have heard the players' complaints and are addressing them. Today Grinding Gear Games announced several changes being implemented in the action RPG. Some of these are already in place, as they didn’t require a realm restart to implement. Others will need to wait for a full patch.

What exactly is it that’s being adjusted? For one thing, dodge roll is being tweaked. It seems that while monsters are intended to be able to trap players, they’ve been doing it a bit too much. To address this, player size while dodge rolling has been adjusted and players now have a chance of shoving smaller monsters while executing a dodge roll. While this won’t completely stop being trapped – as that’s a feature, rather than a bug – it should result in it happening less.

The devs have also heard complaints about having to retrace their steps in order to return to an objective. It’s time-consuming and, obviously, players would rather get on with the business of completing the new objective. To fix this, the devs are adding a checkpoint that will teleport players to other checkpoints in the area, provided they’ve already been located. New checkpoints have been placed at all entrances and exits to zones as well as the midpoint of the first Dreadnaught area.

Other changes include adjustments to rare monsters, currency, and map mods. The devs have even addressed issues with unique bosses dropping badly by implementing “Unlucky” drop protection. Changes include adjusting the percentage of gold drops and guaranteeing that act and map bosses will always drop at least one rare.

This reminded me of when I bought Path of Exile...and now...its fine and free, which are all a good thing. I have to stress I was happy to help as these devs, are one of the best game devs out there and very honest in their approach.
