Guild Wars 2 Is Celebrating The Year Of The Rabbit In Style And It Kicks Off Today
Earn extremely shiny new rewards.
The Lunar New Year is still almost two weeks off in the real world, but video games are getting in on the celebration early. The latest to kick off the Year of the Rabbit is Guild Wars 2. The game’s annual Lunar New Year festival is underway, and players can begin the celebration in Divinity’s Reach. During the event, they’ll celebrate with fireworks, participate in special games, eat Canthan food, and earn prizes. The event is open to everyone, so be sure to take part before January 31.
To take part in the event, players will need to head to the Crown Pavilion. An instant teleport is provided in the invitation sent to players via in-game mail. From there, they’ll need to speak to different NPCs to participate in the various activities. There’s the Celestial Challenge, which has people racing, performing jumping puzzles, and more. There’s a PvP mode the Dragon Ball Arena. This is a 5v5 mode. Players can also race mounts and play with firecrackers.
Participating in the various events will earn players Essences of Luck that can be consumed or used as a currency. Some events will give out other currencies like the Token of the Celestial Champion, which can be exchanged for Lucky Envelopes containing special rewards. The rewards are based on the magic find attribute, so those wanting the biggest rewards need to make sure it’s high.
