The man behind the creativity department of the Halo franchise has left Microsoft.

Frank O'Connor, the Creative Director for the shooter series Halo, has exited the company after almost 20 years of service. According to his LinkedIn page, the end date for the position was updated to April 2023, Windows Central reports. Also worth mentioning that O’Connor added no new role to the platform.

Besides working on the Halo franchise since 2004, he created the Bungie Weekly Update that still is active today. After leaving the game studio around the Destiny era, O’Connor joined 343 Industries (which is owned by Microsoft) in 2008. He’s been a part of the team that worked on the Halo games and novels, as well as the TV series on Paramount Plus.

O’Connor did not confirm this departure himself, but Microsoft released a statement yesterday that said: "We thank Frank for his numerous contributions to the Halo franchise and wish him well going forward."
