Highguard Suffers Mostly Negative Reviews Following Launch
I mostly just feel bad for the devs...

Yesterday, Wildlight Entertainment released its PvP raid shooter, Highguard. Since then, the game has accumulated more than 15,000 reviews on Steam, and things are not looking good.
Don’t get us wrong. There are some positive reviews for the free-to-play game. And since the game is free-to-play, it won’t hurt you to try it if you really want to.
That said, more than 60% of the game’s reviews are negative, with most of them having legitimate complaints. These include the size of the game’s map, which is too big for 3v3 play, connectivity issues, and that the game is simply boring. That last one makes sense if the map is too big to meet other players on.
Other complaints include blurry visuals and “surface-level gameplay” with a lack of things (or NPCs) to interact with. One reviewer even stated that they “mostly just feel bad for the devs”, as they believe the game wasn’t intended "for this level of scrutiny".
The question now is what the developers plan to do in response to the fallout, or if they can do anything that will matter at this point. As of now, it seems players feel like they’ve been delivered an incomplete game. That’s a bit difficult to overcome.
