Elyon Closure Announcement

Today should have been a reasonably good day for Elyon players. A new patch dropped introducing the game’s latest class, the Soulbringer. That would be the dual-wielding sword masters capable of using souls to power their attacks.

While the patch did drop, and a celebration event is underway for the next two weeks, the news is eclipsed by an early morning announcement that Kakao Games will be shutting the European and North American versions of the game down before the end of the year – just in time to free up your Christmas season for other games, I guess. According to today’s announcement, the game will be shuttered on December 7 when regular weekly maintenance should be taking place. It’s also worth noting that today’s update will be the last for the game on these servers, so any maintenance between now and then will be of the purely “keep it running” kind.

In the meantime, Kakao will offer players refunds on their KCoin purchases. The coins have to have been purchased between July 1 and September 7 in order to be eligible for refunds. They also can not have been converted into Rubies. Details on how to request a refund - based on how the purchases were made - are available in the announcement. Also, note that KCoins can no longer be purchased. However, if you have some sitting around and would like to buy Rubies rather than get a refund, you can still do that.

For those wondering about what will happen to their accounts, all Elyon information will be deleted on February 28, 2023. The Kakao Games account will still exist. Also, before you think about hopping to a different region, the post does note that IP blocks are in effect. And finally. No. You can’t request free stuff, but they will be giving out items as part of events before the end.

a failure of game is what lead to this also Kakao policy of blocking like 80% of the world from their games can be added too...i hope that they wont do this to the upcoming global launch of odin valhalla rising....

Wow. Who would have thunk that a game riddled with issues at launch and even to this day wouldn't last? Colored me shock. I feel for the players but this game felt like another dead game walking since even the beta days.
