La Tale Starts a New Chapter, Leaving OGPlanet For Vertigo Games
La Tale, billed as "The Most Friendly MMORPG," is on the move. On June 27, it will be leaving its current home on the OGPlanet portal and shuffling off to Vertigo Games.
Players in North America and Europe will need to create a new account with Vertigo Games to continue playing. Somewhat surprisingly, though, all character data will be wiped. According to the FAQ on the OGPlanet site, character transfers are "subject to the decision of ActozSoft, the developer." However, the Vertigo page answers the question much more directly:
"Our team is using the relaunch as an opportunity to rebalance character classes, implement significant game system improvements, and overhaul the monetization model to enhance the overall La Tale experience. As a result of the service change and relaunch, however, all existing player data and progress will unfortunately be lost."
Players who transfer their accounts will still be granted certain legacy account rewards. Service will resume on Vertigo Games' Papaya Play June 28 alongside the launch of the expansion Call of the Goddess.
