Magic: The Gathering Arena Offering Two $25,000 Prizes On Friday

If you're a fan of Magic: The Gathering Arena, it might be a good idea to take Friday off from work -- or at least take an hour off in the late morning or early afternoon. Sure, that might get you canned from your job, but you could wind up netting $25,000 for doing so, which should help with the bills while you hunt for a new position.

Wizards of the Coast is partnering with YouTuber Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson, who will give away $50,000 this Friday, April 23. If you play Arena on any device between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and get matched up against him -- he'll be anonymous, so you won't know if you're playing him -- you'll be eligible to receive one of two $25,000 prizes. You don't even need to win, which means even I could do it. Hey, Magicman, I'm gonna be busy Friday ...

MrBeast is a well-known for his "over-the-top stunts and philanthropic donations," so we're pretty sure this isn't a "Nigerian price" kind of "easy money" scam. Still, I was mostly joking about giving up your day job for your shot at the money -- though, with everyone working from home these days, you could maybe swing it in a separate monitor while you attend a virtual meeting. At the very least make sure you qualify by reading the rules on the MTG Arena site.
