MTG Arena Comes To Mobile Devices; Strixhaven Expansion Coming In April
Magic: Legends might be getting the lion's share of the attention this week, but there's another free-to-play Magic: The Gathering game out there, and it's got a launch to celebrate too.
Magic: The Gathering Arena is now available on Android and iOS devices in Europe and will be launching worldwide tomorrow, March 25. All card sets, formats, events, and other features are supported on mobile and tablet devices, including the latest set, Kaldheim. You can use your existing use their Wizards account to carry over your progress from other platforms and take on players using any devices.
By the way, in case you haven't heard, there's a new expansion coming to MTG Arena, titled Strixhaven: School of Mages (thus keeping with the recent tradition of online CCGs going "back to school"). You can see the full reveal of the expansion tomorrow, March 25, starting at 9 a.m. Pacific on the MTG Arena Twitch and YouTube channels.
Also revealed in a post today were the Kasmina, Enigma Sage sleeve that players would receive for preordering the 50-pack bundle for the upcoming Strixhaven expansion. You can also preorder the Professor Onyx Mastery Pass to receive a bundle of that includes tournament tokens and Professor Onyx in card and sleeve form.
Strixhaven launches in Arena on April 15 and one week later in physical form. Future physical expansions for the year include Modern Horizons 2 on June 11, D&D crossover Adventures in the Forgotten Realms on July 16, Innistrad: Midnight Hunt on September 17, and Innistrad: Crimson Vow on November 19.
