NCSoft Invests In Emptyvessel, A Studio Comprised Of Industry Veterans
They're working on Defect, a multiplayer cyberpunk tactical shooter.

NCSoft has invested in Emptyvessel, a Texas-based game studio founded by industry veterans from Naughty Dog, id Software, Activision, and Disney.
This news comes from a Game Developer interview with America Jeonghee Jin, the CEO of NCSoft America. The funding is intended to support the completion of the studio’s debut title, Defect, a multiplayer cyberpunk tactical shooter.
This move is part of NCSoft’s ongoing effort to expand its global reach through partnerships with a diverse range of studios. Their roster includes Mistil Games and Vic Game Studios in South Korea, Virtual Alchemy in Poland, and Moon Rover Games in Sweden.
We’re not sure if Defect will be free-to-play, but given NCSoft’s track record, it seems likely.
