New Aliens: Fireteam Elite Roadmap Outlines A Year Of Free Content Updates
Players can expect new content quarterly.
It’s been almost two months since developer Cold Iron released the first season content update for Aliens: Fireteam Elite. Titled “Phalanx”, after the new kit it introduced, the season was the first step in introducing content to a game that would definitely benefit from it. Although, it may not have been as beefy as players might have hoped – adding just the new kit, weapons, and cosmetics. That should probably be expected with the first batch of new content on a relatively new game.
The good news is that there is more content on the way and a new roadmap offers a look at what players can expect between now and the third quarter of 2022. The roadmap lists four rounds of seasonal content (including Phalanx). Yes, all three of the upcoming seasons contain new weapons and cosmetics. Why wouldn’t they? They all also include new challenge cards and either new attachments or perks.
As for the big-ticket items, players can expect a new game mode in Season 2 and again in Season 4. Season 3 will feature a new kit. All three seasons also add new features. Of course, none of the seasons specify what any of these new modes, features, challenges, or anything else will be.
Players can expect Season 2 to land before the end of the year. Since the updates appear to be more or less quarterly, with the exception of the break in quarter one of 2022, it seems likely we’ll see Season 2 around the end of November – beginning of December.
