New Game, “Gravity Goal," May Be Rocket League's New Competitor
With a futuristic aesthetic and new game mechanics, Gravity Goal could be a strong contender.
The popular vehicular soccer video game Rocket League might have some competition in the near future. 2K Games is currently developing a new game called, “Gravity Goal.” In this new upcoming game, players will ride on TRON-like motorbikes as they try to knock a ball into the back of the goal with their vehicles.
Gravity Goal is said to have the same amount of team formations as Rocket League, offering 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 matches. The main difference between these two games will be the addition of ‘discs’ that look like hockey pucks with bright LED lights. These discs can be thrown at opponents' vehicles to cause damage. These ‘discs’ will also cause the opposing team’s vehicle to either stop or slow down once they are hit. How much damage can be delt with each ‘disc’ is correlated with not only the players' vehicle speed, but also the opponents' speed as well.
Gravity Goal had its closed Alpha late last year, therefore the game may be announced in the next coming months. The game is expected to release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.
