New Lost Ark Blog Post Schools Players On Item Level And Progression
If there are things you were confused about, this might help.
While the Lost Ark team is sure most of the game's existing players have a strong grasp on its systems by now, they are concerned that all of it might be a lot for those just coming in. After all, a lot of it can be pretty daunting if you're very new to online games. There's a lot going on.
For that reason, Smilegate and Amazon decided to create the Lost Ark Academy. This will be a series of posts dedicated to explaining the game’s systems to players and helping them get started.
In the first post, the devs address Item Level and Progression. They begin with the point at which progression starts, after completing the main storyline of North Vern. This is the beginning of Tier 1 and the point at which the game's world really becomes available to players. Of course, players will need to pick up a set of gear (item level 302 to be exact) before they can really get rolling. After that, they'll need to begin honing the gear by completing various tasks on a daily basis. The devs recommend doing daily, weekly, and timed activities as part of the honing process. More details are provided in the post.
Once players have done this enough for their gear to hit item level 600, they can begin working on Tier 2, and after that’s done, Tier 3. Both of these will use their own unique honing material, activities, and the like. Although, the post does not delve deeply into that. The assumption is probably that once a player has completed Tier 1, they’ll have a pretty good idea of what to do next.
