PSO2: NGS Headline Shows Off Upcoming Waker Class Complete With Familiars And A BIG Birthday Celebration
That includes the 10th Anniversary celebration for the original game.
With the arrival of July comes a big birthday celebration in Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. The original game is turning 10 and SEGA is celebrating with festivities, goodies, and the requisite redecorating of main cities. There will be new limited-time tasks – including a new field race, new goodies like the N-Rappy Suit mini, and other special outfits available via scratch ticket, and more. In fact, the event is so big it will be divided into more than one part.
A second update and the second part of the anniversary event will drop on July 20. It will introduce even more activities, including some limited-time racing events that players can complete to earn special rewards...like a rappy baseball hat. Because why not?
Today’s preview wasn’t just about the anniversary, however. Some of the stream’s time was focused a bit more into the future with a look at what’s to come in August. Players can look forward to an all-new class – the Waker. At first glance, the Waker may look like the Summoner. However, it is different. A Waker uses familiars rather than pets, the difference being that familiars don’t need to be raised. They can also be swapped out more easily. That actually makes them sound like the more preferable of the two classes.
The stream also provided a timeline for the games running through August. In addition to the obvious updates, it also mentions seasonal events and special campaigns. Those interested can watch the whole thing below.
