Rock On As New World’s PTR Goes Live Today Allowing Players To Partake In More Aeternum Fun
Players with musical talent can look forward to the inclusion of 5 new instruments.
The Public Test Realm for New World’s July update is live today starting at 10:00 a.m. PDT. This test realm, while public, is only available for a limited time to allow players an early look at features coming to the game in the July update. Updates players can hope to encounter are the new Barnacles & Black Powder expedition, the addition of musical instruments, and the Summer Medleyfaire event.
A dark and mysterious tide rises in Aeternum with the new Barnacles & Black Powder expedition. Adventurers must claim their quests from the Cutlass Keys settlement and the new docks on the territory’s eastern shore. Rumors suggest that there is even a greater power within the Admiral’s hold. Barnacles & Black Power is an endgame expedition so players should keep that in mind before heading to the entrance that can be found at the small docks in the south east Cutlass Keys.
As mentioned above, finally making their debut will be an array of musical instruments for players to pick up and learn. There will be 5 instruments for players to choose from, the Guitar, Mandolin, Upright Bass, Drums, and Azoth Flute. In addition, players will have 31 songs to collect and master. Adventurers can play solo or as a group with up to 5 adventurers. Players will be able to find sheet music as they salvage pages hidden throughout Aeternum. If players find their instrument out of tune, or not to their liking, they can always craft better instruments through the Furnishing trade skill. The better the performance, the better the various buffs given, so you better start practicing. Who knows, maybe a kind on-looker will toss in a tip.
Finishing off we have the Summer Medleyfaire Event. Despite harsh battles and violence in Aeternum, there is still fun to be had as Summer Villages have been erected in Brightwood, Everfall, Weaver’s Fen, and Monarch’s Bluffs. Players who are excited about the new instruments can complete the Summer Medleyfaire quests to earn a special set of pages and starter instruments as well. Players can spend their time catching fish like the famed Aeternum Sturgeon with Maudlinbugs to claim special rewards. If players are particularly proud of their catch, they can have it framed at the new Mount-A-Catch stations found in every village.
The Public Test Realm has a lot more to offer players and all of it can be read on their official post. In addition, if players are curious on how to gain access to the new PTR, they can check out the FAQ at the bottom of the linked page. However, to put it simply, if players have a copy of New World they will automatically be granted access to the secondary PTR app, players will just need to download a separate client.
