Warhammer 40K Darktide Into the Maelstrom

Enter the Maelstrom.

In a dev blog, Fatshark outlined several upcoming changes coming to Warhammer 40K Darktide in Patch #12 (1.1.20). These changes are part of the next patch, "Into the Maelstrom," set to release around mid-August.

For starters, there’s adjustments to the shooter's Mission Board, including the introduction of Maelstrom missions with challenging conditions and modifiers, offering increased rewards. Another section of missions, called "Auric-level Operations," will feature high-difficulty missions for level 30 players, emphasizing Maelstrom missions and excluding Low Intensity conditions. Quickplay bonuses will be added to reward players who fill empty spots in strike teams, and server selection options and matchmaking improvements are on the way.

Moreover, the crafting system is undergoing changes, particularly in item refinement (previously known as Perk re-rolling). Players will have the ability to choose specific perks when refining items, with resource costs adjusted based on item ratings and perk tiers. Dual modifications for weapons, perks, blessings, and curios are introduced, allowing players to modify two different aspects of an item.

Finally, character-bound currencies will transition to an account-bound wallet system, allowing access across all characters. The migration of Ordo Dockets, Ordo Ingots, Plasteel, and Diamantine to a unified account will simplify currency management.
