Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis Reveals Major October Update
New EX Style system, Crimson Realm event, and story episode.
SEGA has revealed the next wave of content for Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, giving players a look at what is coming in October.
The free-to-play MMORPG introduces EX Style, a new player enhancement system that allows characters to adopt special “Styles” that work similarly to Main and Sub-Classes. Each Style unlocks unique skills and the “After Blast” ability, a powerful move that follows a Photon Blast and can trigger bonus effects. Styles level up and grant Skill Points, but their progress is shared across all characters. At launch, three Styles will be available, each offering its own unique traits.
Also, the level cap for all classes will increase to 110.
Alongside EX Style, players will gain access to new content and quality-of-life improvements. A new Augment, C/Tera Triyal, can be created by combining existing Augments, with some of the required items dropping from Crimson Realm enemies. Creative Space will also be expanded with Stia-themed building pieces. And, the new Faltek Face option provides mechanical-styled customization with editable eyelids, eyelashes, and expanded eye adjustments.
Additionally, the Crimson Realm returns from October 1 for one week, alternating between Belugana Ruins and Lost Central. During this limited event, weather conditions will shift ominously red, enemies grow stronger, and Trials can transform PSE Bursts into the more rewarding Forte or Encore versions. Plus, a new Mini Episode launches, continuing the story arc from August by exploring how allies are coping after the confrontation with Vael. A side episode focusing on Hibana, closely connected to Crawford and Glen, will be introduced as well and unlocked through Main Task progression.
