Season 2 Of Overwatch 2 Brings Ramattra, A New Dual-Form Tank Hero, On December 6th
Raise shields or get really angry and use some rocket punches to win the day.
Season 2 of Overwatch 2 isn't all that far away. While it may seem like it was only a few days ago that the hero shooter launched as F2P, the next season is kicking off in just 8 days on December 6th.
As Blizzard previously revealed, Season 2 will see a new hero added to the roster just as Season 1 did, but remember, the next hero after this won't be added until Season 4 as new heroes and new maps will alternate being added every other season.
Season 2's new hero addition adds another tank hero to the fray, one that will be familiar to many. Ramattra, the leader of Null Sector, has only ever really wanted one thing: a better life for fellow onmics. That hasn't panned out all that well in light of humans not really accepting (and in fact destroying many) omnics... so yeah, fight it out.
Ramattra's move set comes in two forms. In his "Omnic" form, expect to be managing things from a little bit of a distance. Using a staff to fire at enemies sets the stage for Ramattra to pop a shield (Void Barrier), but his set also allows him to get in and out of the fray quickly. Time it right, and you can close the gap on enemies and unleash the hell that is Ramattra's "Nemesis" form.
This enhanced form changes Ramattra's appearance and abilities. With new fists, comes new punches and these are sure to send enemies flying and punish enemies grouped up at a distance. Annihilation, Ramattra's ultimate, unleashes a very short duration burst of constant damage to enemies in range... the catch? It tethers to enemies and if it is tethered, the duration timer pauses. Yeah, the timer is short, but it's constantly paused if tethered right.
Check out the full skill set and story behind the new hero and get ready for launch!
Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.
