Lost Ark Launch Day Issues

Just in case you weren’t sure if people were excited about the launch of Lost Ark, people are definitely excited about the launch of Lost Ark. In fact, they like it so much that those who had access to the game’s Head Start via the Founder’s Packs have filled several of the servers, resulting in massive queues – the online gamer’s greatest enemy. Of course, Smilegate is attempting to cull some of those queues with a variety of steps.

Included in their queue culling plans is to attempt to convince players to switch to lower population servers. Not surprisingly, players are reluctant to do so. We all know how it goes. You probably spent a lot of time and effort to find the right home for you and your friends. Of course, you don’t want to move – especially if you can’t convince everyone to go with you. What makes it even less appealing, however, is that if you’ve purchased a Founder’s Pack, your in-game goodies are tied to the server you claim them on, and no one wants to give up something they’ve paid for.

Smilegate has acknowledged this issue and is offering players who are willing to transfer the opportunity to claim their items on whatever server they select. They do suggest that players make sure that where they land is absolutely where they want to be before claiming the pack as the company won’t be offering more. Players won’t lose the items they claimed on their original server, so there’s no worry there.

Of course, all of this requires players to be able to log into the game at all – which is not the case at the moment. The official launch has been delayed by at least a few hours. Just read that as "whenever they get stuff fixed."
