Smite Celebrates 10 Years With A Fiery God, A God Lineup Teaser, And A Magic The Gathering Crossover
Get ready for Surtr, The Fire Giant.
This past weekend, Hi-Rez held the annual Smite Worlds Championships. This is the tournament’s ninth year in action, but it’s the game’s tenth anniversary. In that time, the game added a lot of new gods and several new pantheons. And, of course, the devs intend to keep doing that – which is why they showed off the game’s next god, as well as gave players a taste of what’s to come.
The revealed god is the fire giant Surtr. Being a fire giant, all of his abilities have some sort of flame aspect. The biggest of these is the ultimate, which transforms Surtr into a meteor. Other abilities include flaming swords and imp throwing. As for other upcoming gods. Well, those were teased in the video below.
As an additional treat, Smite players can now transform several of the game’s gods into characters from Magic The Gathering. The MTG crossover began with the new update but won’t end there, instead, it will continue into the next and add even more skins to the game.
