Star Trek Online Reveals First 32nd Century Ship To Be Added To The Game

Star Trek Online players will soon be able to explore space in their very own 32nd century vessel. The game's devs announced today, via twitter and a post on the site, that the first ship from that era to join the lineup will be the Janeway Class Command Science Vessel. If you're not sure exactly which model that is, think of the Voyager-J.

The Janeway Class vessel is a Tier 6 Federation ship featuring a Command Science / Command Specialist Bridge officer seat, as well as a Lieutenant Universal / Miracle Worker Specialist bridge officer seat. It's inspired by the Intrepid-class ships of the 24th century, but features updates intended to make it faster and more easily maneuvered. It also varies from traditional science vessels in that it focuses power output on the hull rather than shields. And, as an added bonus, it's configured to function as a fleet command vessel.

The Janeway Class Command Science Vessel is a new addition to a Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack that can be obtained from a Research and Development Pack or a Duty Officer Pack during a special promotion period. The promotion kicks off on March 4, and will run until March 25.
