Vampire Survival Game V Rising Gets First Gameplay Trailer
Sink your teeth into it.
Stunlock Studios' V Rising is a survival game with all the expected trappings of the genre: hunting, gathering, crafting, building, and so on and so forth. What makes it stand out from the crowded field, however, is the nature of the player character. You're not a puny human, forced to subsist on the meager scraps that nature provides, but a vampire, out for blood and with plans for world domination.
Today, we got a glimpse of what all that entails, with the release of the first gameplay trailer for V Rising. It uses a MOBA/ARPG-like 3/4 view, and there's a full gothic-style open world to explore, alone or with friends. You'll have a wide range of vampiric powers at your disposal, and once you've wreaked enough havoc, it's back to your rebuilt castle to sleep off the daylight in your coffin.
Did we say you'd have friends? Being a vampire, those will be few and far between, and you'll have to guard your domain against other player-vampires who'd like to turn you into their next conquest. Of course, you can pretend to be their friend, and ... well, we know how that usually goes.
Stunlock plans to take V Rising into beta sometime later this year. You can sign up for the test on the game's website and learn more about it on its Steam page.
