Where Winds Meet Version 1-2

It looks like Everstone Studio is ready to jump right into the new year. Today, the developer announced the next big update for its free-to-play open-world Wuxia ARPG, Where Winds Meet. Players won’t have to wait long for the new content, which will wrap up their adventures in Kaifeng. (At least the main story version. There’s probably still plenty of side adventures for players to discover.)

When the update drops on January 9, it will also introduce a new region and puzzle cave, launch the first-ever Jianghu Martial Arts Games, and kick off the competitive Guild Battle Preseason. With the launch of the new update, players will finally be able to explore the Nine Mortal Ways camp hidden away in the Ghost Market. And, as this is the final chapter of the Kaifeng story, there will be a new campaign boss. The boss, named Supreme Freedom, will apparently require players to make some choices, the kind that can impact fate.

PvP fans who have been waiting for large-scale group content will be pleased to know that the Guild Battle Preseason will kick off with the launch of the update. The developers have made an effort to make sure the content is accessible to everyone by scheduling matches based on the regions the guilds are in. Players should note that the preseason is being used to obtain feedback and refine the system. So things will probably not be perfect.

As for the martial arts games mentioned before, the Jianghu Martial Games is a limited-time festival featuring modes like “Elder Express” and “Towering Masters”. This is a less serious event that players will be able to jump into any time.
