RuneScape’s April Plans Detailed In Dev Video
There’s quite a bit planned for the next month.

As we all know, Jagex has been making some big changes to RuneScape, endeavoring to improve the game and make it a bit future-proof. In the last several months, they’ve removed Treasure Hunter microtransactions, adjusted the Premier Membership model, made the original combat styles easier to learn, and more. This week, the developer of the free-to-play MMORPG continued with their efforts by detailing their plans for the month of April in a new dev video.
The nearly 20-minute video begins by explaining the dev goals and how they determine what they’re trying to achieve. These are the same goals they listed when they announced the work they’d be doing earlier in the year. They then spent time detailing how the changes they’ve made so far are working out. That includes the early game rebalancing and how some of their changes resulted in them needing to make tweaks to the game’s AFK system.
If you’d rather skip the recap and go right into what they’re working on now, you’ll want to skip to about 13:11 minutes in. That’s where they begin talking about the month ahead, covering it on a week-by-week basis. Week one will address Blooming Burrow and the cosmetic toggle. With the seasonal event having dropped this week, they noted changes being made to events in general to make them less grindy. With the cosmetic toggle, they’re offering a bit more control.
Week 2 will offer bug fixes, and the devs will provide players with information on graphical rendering fixes in the community topic. In week 3, the Aura overhaul update will drop. Players can also expect more bug fixes that week, and the community topic will cover the results of the quarterly survey.
Finally, in week 4, the devs will offer updates on the game jam. Once again, there will be even more bug fixes. And the community topic will cover the player avatar.
