World of Tanks

Today, Wargaming announced that World of Tanks is launching an "Art of Strategy" event starting now, featuring 1v1 and 1v7 RTS-style battle modes that'll test players' use of clever strategies and tactics. However, there is a slight difference in the start date for the 1v7, which arrives on April 25.

In the 1v1 battle mode, two players will duke it out for supremacy of the environment, commanding a squadron of seven vehicles. The latter 1v7 mode pits seven Tankers against a single Strategist and the seven vehicles awaiting their orders. While the 1v7 comes out later, you can join the 1v1 madness today on World of Tanks, "allowing players to familiarize themselves with it" before the other battle mode launches.

For those unfamiliar, the two roles for the event, the Strategist and Tanker, operate differently when on the battlefield. The Strategist will command "a squad of seven AI-controlled Tier X vehicles" as the Strategist "sets stances and issues appropriate commands throughout the battle." They can even set planned routes for their AI friends and watch over the battlefield in a bird's-eye view. Tankers can assign roles that fit their vehicles to meet the difficulty of key advancement pushes to gain ground on the field.

No matter what side you choose to play, completing daily missions during the event will let you gain customization elements such as styles, inscriptions, decals, badges, and five unique fully-trained crewmates. You can learn more on the World of Tanks developer blog.
