World Of Warships Hosts Collaboration With Swedish Heavy Metal band Sabaton
The collab includes a new single based on the Japanese battleship Yamato.

A new, musically-inspired collaboration has kicked off in World of Warships. And, honestly, it’s shockingly appropriate. Today, Wargaming announced a collaboration with Swedish heavy metal band Sabaton. Granted, I’m not an expert on Swedish heavy metal, but I’m pretty sure we can trust Wargaming’s judgment on this. Particularly as the collaboration will feature the band’s new single “Yamato”, which is inspired by the Japanese battleship of the same name. According to the press release, this isn’t the first song the group has done that’s been inspired by warships. A previous single, titled “Bismarck,” was released in 2019.
In addition to the new song, the collaboration also includes an in-game Collection, “The Legend of Sabaton”. This collection is available now and will remain so until April 16. It features a Sabaton Commander (the band’s lead singer, Joakim Brodén) as well as themed camouflages and containers. The Commander comes with voiceovers from both Brodén and bass player Pär Sundström.
The Legend of Sabaton collection can be found in both Standard and Premium containers and will include messages and facts about the band. Players of the free-to-play war strategy game will even receive rewards for completing the collection, the “Crowned in Smoke and Flame” permanent camouflage for Yamato, five “Metal Flames” permanent camouflages, and more.
