Final Fantasy XIV Zenos The Rooster

If you haven’t been watching Final Fantasy XIV’s week-long Mogchute Farm stream, you probably haven’t seen Zenos the Rooster. The stream, which began on Monday, celebrates the upcoming launch of the game’s Island Sanctuary with scenes from Mudchute Park and Farm near London. On Monday, the stream primarily focused on three areas containing sheep, goats, and chickens. They’ve since expanded to include some other critters like bunnies.

Early on, one chicken – or rather rooster – caught everyone’s attention. He’s blonde, has an obvious attitude, and seems like a bit of a loner. Players immediately began comparing him to everyone’s favorite (or most hated) frienemy, Zenos. As happens, art and memes began to spread, and “Zenos the Rooster” was born.

The collaboration and villain-rooster comparisons are apparently benefiting the farm a good deal, as the Mudchute Twitter account not only shared some of the fan creations but announced that the rooster is now officially Zenos the Rooster.

As Mudchute Farm is a charity organization, they’re not also using the fun of having a rooster named after a video game baddie to do a little fundraising. Those interested in contributing can find the donation info in the tweet above.
