The First Descendant Major September Update Revealed In Developer Stream

The First Descendant revealed the new Lounge system, a customizable personal space accessible from the Albion Dispatch Lobby, during a developer livestream showing details for the upcoming September 4 update. Players of the free-to-play shooter can decorate rooms such as the Living Room, Display Room, and Bedroom, adjusting weather and lighting while showcasing characters, skins, weapons, dioramas, and figurines. Collectibles for the Lounge will be obtained through the new Edi-T merchant, using Collectible Coins and Mysterious Coins acquired in different activities.

Another highlight is the release of Ultimate Luna. Her new exclusive quest, “Reunification,” will explore her personal backstory, including the reasons behind her music and shoulder tattoo. Ultimate Luna introduces exclusive modules like Battlefield Concert (enhancing ranged skills, buffs, and debuffs) and Battlefield Artist (shifting focus to firearms).

The update also adds three new Trigger Modules (Blazing Zone, Tactical Acceleration, Storm Bullet) and three new Ultimate Modules (Critical Point Breakthrough, Intimidation Release, Life on the Edge). And a new Fellow, the Snowy Sled Dog, will be available — offering unique MP healing and farmable through Axion.

Several quality-of-life improvements were announced as well: a leaderboard build-view feature, better inventory filtering, an improved Party Finder, hover bike collision and mounting fixes, adjustments to Wall Crasher contribution scoring, and more balanced daily challenges. In terms of balance updates, Lepic is receiving the most significant overhaul, particularly to his Overclock and Overkill synergy, while Blair, Freyna, and Bunny will see numerical tweaks.

As for cosmetics, new skins are coming, including Moonlight Stage for Ultimate Luna, Ancient Angel for Serena, and the Indoor Wear series for the Lounge. Multiple events are also planned, such as Sing Along with Luna (mission-based rewards including exclusive cosmetics), the arrival of Collectible Merchants Collec-T & Edi-T, the Luna’s Music Journal Attendance Event, and the Skin Contest 2025 Final Vote.

Last but not least, it was confirmed that The First Descendant will appear at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, where new collaborations will be announced.
