This village isn't what it used to be. The once thriving streets still echo the footfalls of children running amidst the shops, the laughter of a couple in love on an afternoon walk, and the gentle sound of water from a nearby fountain in the square.

As if on cue, the sounds of steel scraping on the paving stones breaks the reverie of those long gone echoes.

This place is different now. The Knight and his ilk saw to that. What used to be home is now a ruined pile of carts, stone, pallets, and the smell of burning decay hangs heavily in the air.

Now it's our turn, and we have to make it out of here.

The Shattered Square is a new location added to Dead By Daylight today in the latest "Forged In Fog" update and while it bears all the hallmarks of a DBD map, there's a few new scenes you'll want to take in as you avoid capture (and worse) by the game's new killer, The Knight.

The Knight doesn't work alone, though. In addition to a murderous longsword, the Knight can call on his 3 loyal AI-controlled Guards, The Carnifex, The Assassin, and The Jailer – each possessing their own unique qualities – to patrol the Map or carry out certain tasks.

It's a long day for us survivors...or maybe it'll be a real short one.

Forged in Fire is now available on Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store, Windows Store and Nintendo Switch.
