MapleStory Celebrates Its 21st Anniversary With The “Maple University Event”
It’s time to go to school and get some skills.

Global MapleStory is turning 21, and apparently, Nexon decided the best way to celebrate the free-to-play MMORPG is by sending everyone to school. Or, rather, they’ve announced The Maple University event featuring “extracurricular” activities and specialized progression mechanics.
During the event, players will spend their time on campus and attend lectures to earn credits and Campus Points. Of course, these can be exchanged for special rewards. As players do their best to survive the semester, they’ll unlock buffs and a special skill named “Rowdy Campus Live” that will grant them massive XP.
Of course, school wouldn’t be school without activities and rivalries, so the celebration includes a “Monster Election”. Players join a team and collect lightsticks via mini-games or by defeating monsters. The lightsticks are used to vote for candidates and unlock growth perks.
As it’s a university, players will also need student IDs. A visit to Dean Pink Bean will allow players to craft a custom Maple U ID using “Memories” obtained from defeated monsters. And yes, there are rewards to be had here as well.
The event also includes mini-games and different things for players to discover. Completing the mini-game will earn players XP and special rewards.
