Free-to-play MMO first-person shooter World of Tanks is commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day with a special tribute event running from May 6 to 13.
Players will assume the role of an Allied tank commander tasked with delivering an important message behind enemy lines in a new PvE mission called “Operation Postman.” They will navigate minefields, mislead German patrols, and secure a safe route to their objective in a camouflaged M24 Chaffee. Upon completion, players are rewarded with this very tank.
As part of the celebration, Wargaming is hosting a livestream on May 10 in partnership with The Tank Museum in Bovington, UK. Military historian Richard Cutland and museum spokesperson Nik Wyness will discuss the legacy of VE Day and the evolution of armored warfare. Viewers can earn Twitch Drops and win in-game rewards. Additionally, players can enjoy 5x XP boosts for their first victory each day between May 8 and 12.
