Hopefully, this is the first commission of many for longtime WoW fan creator Hurricane.

WoW Classic Journey Trailer

There was a time when Blizzard would actively hire members of their community to contribute to the vision of World of Warcraft, and recently we caught a glimpse of that company people knew fondly. They commissioned Hurricane, a longtime WoW fan film creator, to create a trailer for the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King Classic expansion, which showed their phenomenal skillset and ability to make a super dope trailer before release.

Instead of the Pixar-level CGI detail seen in Blizzard cinematics, Hurricane blends a mixture of in-game HD models, cinematic magic, and dramatic camera angles to deliver the events of the Lich King's reign. There's a ton of movement from scene to scene, never resting as large groups mimicking players rise to defend Azeroth. Most impressively, the visual spectacle of bosses and sheer scale of mobs of enemies rising from the ground at the Lich King's will is chilling to see.

The comments section on the YouTube video has viewers congratulating Hurricane on the successful trailer while plenty more advocate for Blizzard to "hire him." Others remark how they like Blizzard "letting people from the community into the official videos," which would be cool to see often. Hurricane's mark on the Classic version of WoW should hopefully inspire Blizzard to seek out more skillful members of their community.

Note: Activision Blizzard is still under investigation by the state of California for serious harassment charges. CEO Bobby Kotick is alleged to have known about such actions within his company – and performed some himself – and shielded the perpetrators from consequences.

Okay wow, I didn't realize that wasn't done by Blizzard. That trailer was very well done.
