Overwatch 2: Top 10 Best Holiday Skins (Winter Wonderland)
These 10 Winter Wonderland skins are best for your Overwatch heroes during the festive season and there's still time to get some of them

One of Overwatch 2’s most highly anticipated annual events is none other than Winter Wonderland, which brings some festive spirit to the game. With limited-time events, quests to complete for seasonal cosmetics and collectibles, festive arcade game modes, and new hero skins as exclusive shop specials, the winter-themed collection grows every year for fans.
But which hero skins out of the entire Winter Wonderland series are the best of them all? Ten of the best winter holiday-themed cosmetics have been listed below, covering heroes affiliated with Overwatch, such as Brigitte and Mercy, chaotic thieves like Junkrat and Roadhog, and even Omnic friends such as Bastion and Orisa.
Brigitte – Ice Queen

This cosmetic, without a doubt, is one of the most beautiful and elegant options out there for Brigitte, turning her into a frosty ice queen. Fans of the Support hero who have this skin are also in luck – it is rather rare, having been a previous Winter Wonderland 2022 event-exclusive skin obtainable through Twitch drops. Ice Queen Brigitte has never returned since, and there is zero evidence to point towards this happening in the future. However, that most definitely does not stop it from being one of the coolest Winter Wonderland skins in Overwatch 2, and a certain fan favorite for the holiday season.
Junkrat – Krampus

Junkrat is one of the more eccentric characters in Overwatch 2, and he’s gained some great skins over the years that really dig into his wacky mannerisms and explosive personality. Honestly, this is definitely one of Junkrat’s greatest skins of all time. He just suits the theme of Krampus so well that if anyone deserved a skin themed around the mythical figure, it was definitely Junrkat. And the skin delivers, too. He’s got the horns, the toothy fangs, and heck, even a stitched-together Santa Claus costume complete with little bell trinkets. It’s the perfect skin to put into rotation for the holidays. Simply pair with one of Junkrat’s many emotes for some very goofy winter holidays shenanigans!
Mercy – Jingle Belle

For a while, Mercy’s most prominent Winter Wonderland skin was the gorgeous Sugar Plum Fairy, which is stunning, but sort of lacks that festive charm or winter-ish aesthetic that so many of the others nail. With the arrival of Jingle Belle, Mercy gained a very festive and adorable cosmetic for Support players to equip. Heck, it’s even cute enough to get away with across the entire year, if you really love it! From the cute little antler headband to the winter dress or gold-plated wings, this one really brought perfect balance between the seasonal themes and every other aspect that makes all of the biggest Mercy skins complete fan-favorites in the community.
Roadhog – Frosty

Another absolute classic is Roadhog’s Frosty skin, which, much like Ice Queen Brigitte, was an event-exclusive Winter Wonderland limited-time cosmetic. This one, though, comes from way back in ‘ol Overwatch 1. However, the skin has also made a return via the in-game Overwatch 2 Shop, so while not as a play-to-earn reward as it once was, players have had multiple chances to pick it up. I mean, why wouldn’t you want to snag this one? Roadhog as Frosty the snowman, complete with jagged carrot nose, glowing blue eyes, and a teeny tiny tophat. No doubt about it, this one is perfect for adding a seasonal touch to your combo as you hook players across the map.
Bastion – Gingerbread

Ah, the classic Gingerbread Bastion skin. This one has quite a history tied to it, as it ended up majorly stirring the pot around the Overwatch community. Originally released as a Winter Wonderland celebration for all players to purchase at the price of a single (1) Overwatch Coin, many fans quickly snagged up the adorable skin for their favorite Omnic. However, upon heading to make purchases for other skins in the future, players who purchased the Gingerbread Bastion skin all found themselves short just one Coin from their next purchase.
The only way to fix the problem? Buying more Overwatch Coins, which ultimately resulted in accusations from players that the skin itself was a big trick to up the sales of the in-game currency. All dramas aside, though, there’s no denying that this is one of the best festive cosmetics in the game. Bastion is absolutely adorable with his little Gingerbread design, and it’s such a perfect part of the holidays that fits the charm of his ‘dangerous, but sweet’ quirks. Plus, he has a little Santa Hat, and even Ganymede is made out of gingerbread!
D.Va - Sleighing

Some would argue that she’s far too lucky in the cosmetics department, but let's face it...everyone loves a good D.Va skin. As far as festive Winter Wonderland options go, her Sleighing cosmetic is one of the most popular options for players to put into rotation during the holiday season. Her Mech takes on a seasonal spray paint with a red reskin featuring green accents and golden highlights. Then D.Va herself can be seen sporting a cute wintery outfit, including a dress with adorable snowman decals, pretty bells and ribbons, and candy cane-like thigh-high socks. She’s even sporting a brand new hairdo, switching things up from her usual brunette ponytail to a blonde messy bun and bangs with loose strands framing her face. It’s cute, it’s Christmas, and it’s very D.Va indeed.
Orisa – Reindeer

Orisa, despite having a pretty darn fun kit and being one of the more lovable characters on the Tank roster, sadly struggles in the cosmetics department. She truthfully just doesn’t have all that many ‘wow’ factor skins to select from, with even her Mythic being regarded as one of the most underwhelming releases. However, her Reindeer skin is certainly one of the few that absolutely shine. It’s so beloved by the community that it’s often seen all year round, and nobody complains because it’s just that cute. Simple. I mean, who else is a better fit for a reindeer skin than our four-legged horse-like omnic friend? Just look at her antlers and little red nose, it’s practically begging for a boop!
Wrecking Ball – Snowman

Wrecking Ball has some really fun skins in Overwatch 2, because not only do designers get to deck out his ‘Wrecking Ball’ mech with awesome new designs, but they also get to dress up Hammond (the hamster who pilots this mech) in fun little outfits.
A perfect example of this is his Snowman skin, which is one of the best Winter Wonderland skins to date. In this concept, Hammond’s mech has been redesigned as a snowman head, complete with a little scarf and gold decals on his guns. When he rolls around the battlefield, it literally looks like a giant snowman bowling ball, creating perfect chaotic fun for the holiday season. Furthermore, little Hammond himself is all dressed up in a Santa outfit, which includes a full little beard. It’s hilarious, it’s adorable, and it’s incredibly hard to stay frustrated at this Tank as he rolls through your backline in such an amazing skin.
Illari - Winter Jammies

Illari’s Winter Jammies skin may be a recolor (of her Llama Pyjama skin, to be exact), but it is easily one of the best recolors the game has put out for a seasonal event. Her adorable PJs, which remain llama-themed, have been repainted in festive reds, greens, and golds for the holiday season. These colors gel really nicely with the accents on her weapon and accessories, and the little details, such as the star-shaped charms, also work really well for the Christmas season, too. Everything about this skin has been perfected for the theme of Winter Wonderland, right down to the candy cane-striped sock and tiny star-shaped decals on her gun.
Cassidy – Frozen Mountaineer

Rounding off this list as the last entry is a fresh new drop from the 2025 Winter Wonderland Event, Frozen Mountaineer Cassidy. Much like Illari’s Winter Jammies, Cassidy’s Frozen Mountaineer skin is a recolor, this time of his Scrooge cosmetic, which is a Winter Wonderland skin released way back in Overwatch 1. While Scrooge isn’t overwhelmingly popular, Frozen Mountaineer totally reinvents the skin and makes it, well, more winter-themed, for Winter Wonderland. In a way, it’s totally breathed new life into a cosmetic that has been long abandoned by many Cassidy players. From frosty blue hair to icy white and blue color-splash decals on his clothing, this skin is a great new addition to celebrate winter festivities throughout your Competitive and Quick Play matches.
