Gacha games have garnered a ton of attention in the past few years, with the release of games like Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and Wuthering Waves all joining the fray after Genshin Impact launched the genre into the spotlight in ways we have never seen before. Now we are starting to see some new games offer up new ways for players to experience the genre as well, with Where Winds Meet taking on something new and relatively unheard of.

How Gacha in Where Winds Meet Works

You won’t be drawing new characters and powerful abilities in this free-to-play pseudo MMO. Still, you will be going to the maximum amount of style, as the gacha system revolves around getting new outfits for your character. You’re essentially only rolling for new pieces of gear that you find visually appealing, and a good amount of the ones you get from completing parts of the main story are still quite good. However, the free outfits are going to lack the visual flair that will set you apart from many others playing the game as well, so you may feel compelled to try your luck on the gacha that is available in the game.

There are two types of draws that you can use and go for when playing through the game. One will require the game’s premium currency, which can only be bought with real cash. The other draw is centered around using the Jade currency that you gather from a variety of actions that you can do throughout the game. Each type of draw can provide different outfit pieces that appeal to various crowds who play the game.

Like most gacha games, there is a pity system within this very game as well, but it is a little more punishing than some of the others you may be used to playing with. You will need to perform a minimum of 150 draws to reach the pity point for the outfits in the game, which is fairly steep, no matter how you look at it.

Celestial Echo Draws Where Winds Meet Celestial Echo Draw

These draws are going to be your premium currency draws in Where Winds Meet. This tier of the draws will require you to buy up Echo Beads that can then be used for premium outfits that are locked behind the Celestial Echo banner. There are a few other ways that you can get your hands on a few draws for this banner, but these are incredibly limited in how often you do get to pull for them, and won’t be something you’re going to do regularly.

Solemn Echo Draws Where Winds Meet Solemn Echo Draw

With the Celestial Echo giving out premium rewards, you will also have the Solemn Echo to receive rewards that are more in line with everything you achieve in-game. As you explore the game, you’re going to gather a ton of Echo Jades with a majority of the actions you perform. They are earned through opening chests, completing achievements, and various other actions. Echo Jade can take some time to gather, but at 1600 total Echo Jade, you can afford to perform the x10 pull for Solemn Echoes.

One major thing to note is that while the loot pool between the two draws differs, they share the same pity system pool. This means that you can continually spend your Echo Jades you gather from doing the story and exploring, use them on the Solemn Echo draws, and get a ton of progress towards your guaranteed legendary pull for the Celestial Echo. As long as you set aside enough Echo Jade to buy the limited items for Lingering Melody to use later, when you have guaranteed legendaries ready for you.
