Where Winds Meet Palace Cult Leader

Where Winds Meet has a ton of content that you can and will run into as you play through the game; however, some of this content is actually hard to encounter if you aren’t looking for it right off the bat. One such bit of content is the Palace of Supreme Oneness. Like many of the outposts available in the game, this outpost has two separate routes that you can take to complete it, with one being combat-oriented and the other utilizing disguises to infiltrate the cult within. The Palace of Supreme Oneness is one of several outposts that can be completed within Kaifeng City.

How to Enter The Palace of Supreme Oneness

The palace outpost in question can be located in the northwest corner of Kaifeng City, near the Boundary Stone of the same name. Once you’ve reached the outpost, you can then look for the way into the underground area. The entrance to this portion of the palace can be found on the left-hand side when you’ve entered the main area. There will be a small temple on the left when entering the palace square, with a grapple location and notification when you’ve gotten close enough. From here, you can choose one of two ways to complete the outpost. But first, you'll need to speak to Yu Changfeng, who is located on the bottom floor of the building you can grapple to. Speaking with him will allow you to choose one of two scenario options to complete the outpost.

Infiltrate The Cult Option

If you fancy causing chaos from the inner ranks of the cult occupying The Palace of Supreme Oneness, you will need to unlock the Disguise Skill and raise the skill to level 2. This can be done by completing the side quest titled “Disguise: Veil of Love”, which is given to you by Zhuang Wuyan in the southeast of Kaifeng City in the Fairgrounds. When you’ve finished the side quest to unlock disguises, you will then need to raise the skill via the contracts provided by Zhuang Wuyan in the shop.

Once your Disguise Skill is level 2, you can begin the infiltration process by remaining on the top floor of the building you can grapple to. Here, you can find Mu Hao and capture his portrait, which can then be used as a disguise to begin the non-combatant version of the outpost. When you’ve captured his portrait, return to Zhuang Wuyan to put on the disguise from the available list of portraits. After you’ve put on the disguise, you can teleport back to The Palace of Supreme Oneness Boundary Stone and grapple to the same location as before.

Now that you’re disguised as Mu Hao, you cannot let him see you after grappling to the top of the shrine, so you’ll need to stick to the right-hand side of the top floor and make your way down the stairs to speak with Yu Changfeng. Choosing the option to sneak in and cause chaos while in disguise will teleport you underground, with the cultists acting as if you’re part of their ceremony. From here, you can approach the Sect Leader, who has been waiting for Mu Hao.

Speak with the leader, and this will then cut to a scene where they will place a pendant on the altar in the middle of the underground section. When the scene is over, and you have control of your character once again, you can walk up to the altar and steal the pendant for yourself. This will stop the ceremony and halt the cult’s plans, forcing them to leave the outpost and allowing you to collect the reward for clearing the outpost. This option is only available for your first time clearing the outpost and gives you a nice excuse to unlock the Disguise Skill if you’ve yet to encounter content utilizing it.

Barge in Directly Option

If your preference is to skip the disguise option entirely, your second option for the outpost will be to take on the entire cult directly. This is the simplest option when you go to take down the outpost, and this will be how it will be cleared for the remainder of your time in the game. For the first clear of the outpost, this will be a fight with 14 enemies, with future clears of the outpost dropping this number down to 9 in total. There will be a few opportunities to take out a few of the enemies with the stealth back-stabs or kiting them into a far-off portion of the underground area, but combat can be constant if you are caught in the open. You will need to rely on controlling the crowd of enemies, parrying incoming attacks, and taking down each foe one at a time. When complete, the chest reward will spawn near the altar in the middle, and you can collect your rewards.

Clearing outposts for the first time is a great way to increase your Constitution to equip stronger gear, crafting items, gear, Jade, and cosmetic rewards. Regardless of the method you choose to clear The Palace of Supreme Oneness, it will still give you a solid set of rewards that can go towards better gear and hopefully some nice new outfits to show off to your friends in co-op.
