Black Desert Online Update Debuts Tier 5 Pets, Blacksmith Improvements, And New Musical Instruments

Pearl Abyss has revealed the latest patch notes for today's Black Desert Online update, showing off the details for Tier 5 Pets, improved functionality for the Blacksmith, introducing new musical instruments for eager players wanting to produce a variety of unique sounds, and plenty more. The patch is now downloadable on all available platforms.

Players in Black Desert Online now can train their faithful companions from Tier 4 to Tier 5 pets. Whichever companion gets the honor will gain the ability to be appointed as an Alpha Pet. An Alpha Pet is essentially the ringleader of your entourage of pets, keeping them in line and working together. Its talent also increases by one additional level and, with the "Pack Leader" skill that comes with the role, it can increase the looting speed of all nearby pets. To begin training, players should head to Obi Bellen at the Old Wisdom Tree in Kamasylvia to pick up the Tier 5 Pet Training Questline. Have a Royal Plume handy, though, since it'll be needed to complete the training quest.

Pearl Abyss has made quality-of-life changes to the Dwarven Blacksmith shop of Gavinya Great Crater, improving the repair and extracting functions. Players only need to press the "repair" button once to repair every item needing attention or separate a bulk of items by type. The ways of extracting from outfits are way more manageable, coming with a "Select All" function that eliminates sifting through pages of items. Also, armor vendors can now provide extraction services.

The Florchestra Contrabass is a new musical instrument available in Black Desert Online. Players can purchase the blueprint for The Florchestra Contrabass from Artina's instrument shop in Lake Kaia, Lake Flondor, Salanar Pond, or Ancado Inner Harbor. Additionally, four different types of Marnians and the Marnibass instruments are craftable. For players to get their hands on the blueprints and required materials, they'll need to purchase them from Marni's instrument shop and accept daily quests from Marni to obtain the materials.
